After work I was going to give running a miss tonight. Chatted with the boss and arranged the summer holidays for the kids. Seeing that dinner would not be ready for a while, I decided to go for an easy run. On the way to gate 7 century park I saw a lot of joggers and walkers. It was a very pleasant night for running and glad of my decision to come out. At gate 7 I stopped for a few stretching and saw a fast runner passing through. Immediately I followed and we ran together at 4.20 to 4.30/km pace until gate 3 where he disappeared and I carried on to finish the first round 22min38 sec. As I reached gate 7 a fellow runner say hello to me and told me that he is going to run 2 rounds and his usual pace is 25 min per lap. Thinking it is a comfortable pace I agreed to run for one more round. As soon as we started I realised the so call 25 min round is an understatment. After 1.5 km the 32 km I done yesterday and the 10 km run a few minutes earlier got into me and I has to slow down and let him disappeared in front. Strangely enough after 1 k as I turned into Fong Ding road my strength came back and decided to chase him. I could see I was gaining on him as his back seemed to be getting closer and closer. Unfortunately century park is not big enough to let me catch him. Later I realised he did that round for 21 min 30 sec ( mine was 23 min )and he explained that he was excited with somebody running alongside him. Vow, 25 and 21 min is still a big gap. After chatting for a few minutes he went on with his second round and I jogged home, this time nice and easy. Met 哓华and little tiger one after another but I was a bit tired to turn and jog with them, so I just wave to them, Sorry! Did 19km totally and it was great feeling. |
